PowerSkin, the well-known maker of cell phone covers with built-in batteries, has developed a solar cell phone charger that is attracting quite a bit of attention at CES this week. This solar powered cell phone charger, SolarCharge, can power up the majority of cell phones and even the iPod Touch. All you need to connect your device to SolarCharge is a micro USB cord.
The SolarCharge universal cell phone battery charger can provide your phone with enough power for a whopping 350 minutes of talk time. SolarCharge blows other cell phone charger models of the same kind out of the water, providing around 50% more power to phones than the competition.
SolarCharge offers a 1000 mAh battery that receives energy from a solar panel in the middle of its silicone body. This battery allows the universal cell phone charger to deliver power to iPhones, Blackberries, and Androids effortlessly, providing them with just the kick they need to power through the week.
Before charging your phone with SolarCharge by PowerSkin, you have to expose the device to some direct sunlight. All you have to do is put it outside and let it soak up some rays. Once SolarCharge is ready to use, a green LED light on the charger will start flashing. You can also plug SolarCharge into your computer to charge it in a hurry.
Consumers who desire eco-friendly alternatives to ordinary cell phone accessories have waited a while for a portable cell phone charger that actually allows them to significantly charge their phones using solar power. This charger has arrived. When SolarCharge goes on the market in February of this year, we can expect that many people will happily give up their reliance on electrical outlets and switch over to this solar wireless phone charger.

PowerSkin is a company and it looks like they’ve been around since at least 2011. They’re starting to come out with some interesting products and really made a bang at CES this year.
