gGadget > Samsung® Galaxy Note: Pre-Order from AT&T on February 5th
AT&T just officially announced the Samsung Galaxy Note release date. The smartphone will be available to AT&T customers on February 19th, and it will be available for pre-order on February 5th. The Samsung Galaxy Note will have a 5.3” display, making it the smartphone with the largest screen on the market. Some people think that this phone could be considered a mini-tablet thanks to its enormous display. If you want to read ebooks or watch your favorite TV shows on a bigger smartphone display, the Samsung Galaxy Note may be right up your alley. Here’s some more information about the specs of the phone:
The Samsung Galaxy Note will be a 4G LTE AT&T smartphone. So, you can expect pretty fast internet speeds if you live in a 4G LTE city. Additionally, the Samsung Galaxy Note’s large display will be AMOLED and made out of Corning Gorilla Glass. So, this phone will display beautiful and crisp images, and cracking its screen will be pretty tough. The Note will boast a dual-core 1.4 GHz processor, 16GB of storage capacity, 2500 mAh battery, and the Android 2.3.5 Gingerbread OS. An 8 megapixel rear-facing camera and 2 megapixel front-facing camera are the icing on the Samsung Galaxy Note’s cake.
The Samsung Galaxy Note has all the bells and whistles you’d expect from an Android smartphone in 2012. What really sets it apart, however, is its large display. This smartphone is so much like a mini-tablet that it even comes with a stylus. This stylus makes the Samsung Galaxy Note an ideal tool for taking handwritten notes and doodling. It’s safe to assume that the large-screened Samsung Galaxy Note will appeal to certain consumers. However, the question remains: How many people want a phone that can function as a tablet or a tablet that can function as a phone? We’ll have to wait and see.
