gGadget > New iPad Will Ship March 16 for Some, March 19 for Others
As you probably already know, the new iPad launches in the U.S. next Friday. However, Apple has already sold out of the supply they have ready for the 16th. If you still want to pre-order the new iPad before it launches, it won’t ship to you until March 19. This may be slightly disappointing news for iPad enthusiasts who waited a few days to pre-order. The good news is that the new iPad is on its way, and we’ll be able to get a taste of its 4G LTE speeds, Retina display, and awesome iSight camera soon.
In other, related news, Apple has already started offering special deals on the iPad 2. You can now purchase a new 16GB Wi-Fi version of the iPad 2 for a mere $399 on the Apple website, and you can purchase a 16GB Wi-Fi + 3G version for $530. Additionally, Apple is selling refurbished models of the iPad 2 for $350 and up, depending on memory space and network connectivity specifics. iPad 2 prices haven’t quite reached entry-level yet, but the device is certainly reaching new levels of affordability. And since the starting price of the new iPad is going to be a modest $499, it does seem apparent that Apple has realized the public has an interest in affordable tablets.
