Angry Birds has made tech news again this week by announcing their new Angry Birds Space game, which be released March 22. According to Rovio, Angry Birds Space will be a more educational spin-off of the current Angry Birds game. National Geographic and Nasa have both helped Rovio during the development process of Angry Birds Space. Rovio hopes that Angry Birds Space will help get kids more interested in science.

Angry Birds Space will feature some brand new bird characters as well as all the birds from the original game. Most of the birds will have super powers that enhance what they can do in the outer-space setting. Rovio’s keeping the major details about the new game a secret. We do know, however, that players will have to deal with the added challenge of playing levels without the help of gravity. Rovio posted an Angry Birds Space teaser on YouTube today that doesn’t reveal much, but it does seem like a great way to get people excited about the new game. Here’s the video:

Angry Birds has become the most popular gaming app for smartphones and tablets in the U.S. It will be interesting to see if Angry Birds Space fares as well as its predecessor. It will also be interesting to see whether or not Angry Birds Space inspires kids to learn more about space and science in general. Let’s hope it does!
