The Motorola Droid RAZR MAXX has easily become one of the most popular smartphones on the market thanks to its battery life and overall solid specs. The idea of a smartphone that could last over 24 hours between battery charges would have seemed practically implausible six months ago. We are all pretty accustomed to carrying our phone chargers around with us everywhere, just to make sure our smartphones are always charged enough to use. Now Motorola has proven that we don’t need to do that. The Droid RAZR MAXX is living proof that short smartphone battery life isn’t mandatory. And the Droid RAZR MAXX is proof that you don’t have to sacrifice quality to get a battery that exceeds expectations.

The RAZR MAXX comes with a 3300 mAh Li ion battery. Motorola is the first company to incorporate such a powerful battery into a smartphone. The RAZR MAXX’s 3300 mAh battery allows for around 22 hours of continuous talk time and almost 400 hours of standby time in between charges. That’s right. You could talk to your best friend on your Droid RAZR MAXX for almost 24 hours before your smartphone battery wears out.

This new smartphone from Motorola is .35 inches thick and weighs 5.22 ounces. It’s truly miraculous that Motorola was able to pull off sticking a 3300 mAh battery in the RAZR MAXX without increasing its girth and weight dramatically. The Droid Razr, which Motorola released just a month or so before the RAZR MAXX, only sports a 1780 mAH battery. The Razr is .28 inches thick and weighs 4.48 ounces, which means it isn’t that much smaller than the RAZR MAXX, but it still has a much less powerful battery.

The Droid RAZR MAXX runs on the Android 2.3.5 Gingerbread OS. Although Android 2.3.5 is the latest version of Gingerbread, it’s not the latest Android OS, Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich. According to Verizon, Droid RAZR MAXX owners will receive the update to Ice Cream Sandwich sometime this year.

If you’re an Android fan who can’t live without Ice Cream Sandwich, the RAZR MAXX may not be your best option. However, the 2.3.5 Gingerbread OS is a relatively advanced smartphone platform that allows for a generally enjoyable Android experience. If you’re satisfied having to wait a little while for the latest and greatest Android OS, you shouldn’t be too disappointed by how the RAZR MAXX operates.

The RAZR MAXX is a Verizon 4G LTE compatible phone. This means the RAZR MAXX is able to deliver internet speeds that are around ten times faster than smartphones connected to a 3G network are able to deliver. Verizon’s 4G LTE network is only accessible to people in around 120 U.S. cities. You can check the Verizon website to see if your area is 4G LTE connected.

A 1.2 GHz dual-core processor gives RAZR MAXX users the processing power they need. The RAZR MAXX’s dual-core processor, designed by National instruments, lets users quickly and efficiently multi-task. If you don’t know much about dual-core processors, you should know that the RAZR MAXX boasts the same processor as the Samsung Galaxy Nexus, and both phones are considered two of the fastest on the market right now.

The Droid RAZR MAXX has a 4.3 inch Super AMOLED display. This Super AMOLED display allows for brilliant on-screen colors and crisp, clear image quality. The RAZR MAXX’s capacitive touch screen is made of Corning Gorilla Glass, which means that it’s scratch and crack resistant.

The RAZR MAXX comes with backing that is made out of KEVLAR fiber. This Kevlar backing prevents dents, cracks, and damage to a phone’s body. Let’s face it. People drop their phones. So, Kevlar backing is a major advantage.

An 8 megapixel camera can be found on the back of the RAZR MAXX, and a 1.3 megapixel camera can be found on the front. The 8 megapixel rear-facing camera allows users to record HD video in 1080p, and the 1.3 megapixel front-facing camera allows for 720p HD video capture. Overall, the Droid RAZR MAXX’s cameras are what you’d expect from a smartphone in its class.

This phone comes with 16 GB of internal memory plus a microSD slot and complimentary 16 GB microSD card. Users can opt to add up to 32 GB of extra space with a microSD card. Generally, the 16 GB of internal memory plus the 16 GB of complimentary microSD memory are enough space for users to download plenty of apps and music.

As you might expect, the Motorola Droid RAZR MAXX has full access to all the apps on the Android Market. It also comes with email, calendar, and GPS apps plus support for Netflix, Amazon Kindle ebooks, Blockbuster Instant Video, Hulu, and popular games that require extra graphics support to run.

Overall, the RAZR MAXX has the specs to compete with the top smartphones of early 2012 plus the best smartphone battery in existence right now. If it’s time for you to upgrade your phone, and you want something you won’t have to charge twice a day, consider the Droid RAZR MAXX.
