gGadget > iPad 3 Release Date: March 9, According to Some Sources
There’s been a rash of rumors this week about the iPad 3 release date. Some sources say the new iPad could be released as early as the end of February. However, most authorities on the subject believe that Apple will officially announce their new tablet the first week of March. If Apple follows their tradition of releasing a device about a week after they publicly announce it, we can expect an iPad 3 release on or around March 9.
According to Apple Insider, there’s another indication that the release date for the iPad 3 is coming up. AT&T stores have started to receive shipments of micro-SIM cards that work with AT&T’s 4G LTE network. There’s been speculation for a while that the iPad 3 will be 4G LTE compatible. So, AT&T may be receiving the micro-SIM cards in preparation for the new iPad 3 release.
Leaks about the iPad 3 have revealed that it will come with a Retina Display, larger battery, and more powerful processor. Insiders believe that the new tablet will not, however, come with a quad-core processor. There’s also some speculation about Apple’s inclusion of Siri in the 3rd generation iPad. As of now, we aren’t completely sure about the iPad 3’s specs. However, we aren’t expecting Apple to let us down.
UPDATE: Apple will most likely announce the official release date of the iPad 3 on March 7, which is the date of their official launch event for the new tablet. We can expect the new iPad to hit store shelves around 7-14 days after this launch event. We’ll let you know the official iPad 3 release date as soon as we know.
