Droid 4 Release on Verizon 4G LTE Rumored to Be Feb. 9th
Earlier this month at CES 2012, Verizon and Motorola announced they had plans of releasing the Droid 4 smartphone on Verizon’s 4G LTE network in the near future. According to some sources, the official Droid 4 release will be February 9, 2012. If the speculation is true, the Droid 4 will debut a little over sixth months after the arrival of its predecessor, the Droid 3. If you’re a fan of the Droid line of smartphones and are ready for an upgrade, here’s what you should know about the Droid 4:
The Droid 4 will join the Verizon 4G LTE crew of phones. So, if you live in one of the Verizon 4G LTE cities, your internet on the phone will be incredibly fast. Like its Droid ancestors, the Droid 4 will come with a sleek, pull-out QWERTY keyboard to allow for extra efficient texting and web surfing. This QWERTY keyboard will come with lighted keys to enable users to see what they’re typing in low-light conditions.
The Droid 4 will also offer a 1.2 GHz processor, an 8-megapixel camera that includes 1080p HD video capture, 16 GB of memory, and 1 GB of RAM. Additionally, this new smartphone will have a 4.0-inch qHD display made out of glass that is resistant to scratches and cracks. Droid 4 users will have to settle for the Android 2.3.5 Gingerbread OS but will have the opportunity to upgrade to the Android Ice Cream Sandwich OS at some point.
According to a few sources, the Droid 4’s price will likely be around $200, but the price is expected to go down after the phone’s been on the market for a few months. Those who can’t wait to get their hands on the new Droid can expect to pay at least $200, if not a little more.

I can’t wait for the Droid 4 to come out. I like that they’re sticking with the pull out qwerty keyboard.

Does anyone think the 8-megapixel camera is just awesome? That’ll really make it fun to use as a replacement for the pocket camera.
