Canon A3300 Advantages

The Canon A3300 and the Canon 100 HS are both available for almost the same price. If you look hard enough you can probably spend exactly the same amount on each one, so price is a factor we can almost discount completely. That said, the A3300 might be a little bit pricier on average depending on where you make your purchase because of its higher set of specifications. It’s worth it to search a bit more, however, because there are deals available on both models that more than justify the extra time. Here are the areas where the A3300 outshines the 100 HS:

  • The A3300 outpaces the 100 HS when it comes to megapixels. The A3300 has 16, while the 100 HS only comes in at 12. The difference in image quality wouldn’t necessarily be a deal breaker, but it’s hard to justify getting fewer megapixels for the same price.
  • When it comes to zoom the A3300 has a slight advantage. The A3300 has 5x optical zoom while the 100 HS only has 4x. Again, the difference is slight but it makes a difference when you’re paying essentially the same price for each.
  • If you’re going to be shooting in low-light situations then the A3300 would be the better choice. The sensory in the A3300 has a maximum ISO of 6400 while the HS 100 sensor can only goes to 3200. The extra sensitivity will help make low-light photography better with the A3300.

The similar price means that all differences between the two cameras hold more significance, even when they seem very slight. The A3300 seems to have a healthy lead at this point in the comparison, but don’t discount the merits of the 100 HS. Read on to the next page to find out where the 100 HS wins out over the A3300.
