Samsung just announced that they have plans to team up with Blockbuster to deliver Blockbuster Video on Demand to all Samsung devices. This means that Blockbuster on Demand will be available on all Samsung tablets, phones, and HDTVs. Samsung and Blockbuster plan to launch the streaming video service on Samsung devices in the U.S. and UK sometime in the first half of 2012. Blockbuster on Demand will be available on all other Samsung devices worldwide at some point in the second half of 2012.

Samsung is currently developing a billing system that will allow users of their tech products to easily purchase content from Blockbuster’s on demand video content service. If you have multiple Samsung devices, you’ll be able to link them all to one Blockbuster On Demand billing account. Blockbuster Video on Demand allows users to rent movies for 24 hours for $1.99. Once a movie is rented, users can stream it at anytime during the 24-hour period. Blockbuster On Demand also has a collection of movies users can purchase and have streaming access to indefinitely. These movies start at $1.99.

Blockbuster On Demand has only been modestly successful since its launch a few years ago. Its availability on Samsung devices may increase public interest in it and give Blockbuster a chance to make a name for itself in the movie rental business again.

You can already get Blockbuster on Demand on select Samsung HDTVs. Check this one out.
